About AluguelSP
An independent guide to renting, living in and visiting São Paulo — written by people who live in the city.
Who writes this
AluguelSP is maintained by Mation, a Brazilian digital product studio based in São Paulo. The editorial team is made of researchers and residents who follow the local rental market closely — the same team that publishes our monthly São Paulo rent index in Portuguese.
We are not a real estate agency and we do not list properties. We have no stake in which platform you choose.
How we check what we publish
- Rent prices come from our own tracking of 20 São Paulo neighborhoods, refreshed monthly and published as a price index. When we quote a range, it is the range we are seeing that month.
- Transport times and costs are checked against operator fares and real trips, not press releases. Where traffic changes the answer, we say both numbers.
- Rules and paperwork (contracts, deposits, guarantor, CPF) follow Brazilian tenancy law and are reviewed when the law or the practice changes.
- Prices in foreign currency are conversions at the time of writing and will drift. We date them so you know how old they are.
- When something is our opinion rather than a fact — which neighborhood we would pick, whether a fee is worth it — we say so in those words.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help draft and structure some articles. Every page is curated, fact-checked and edited by a human before it goes live, and every guide carries the AluguelSP editorial byline. We do not publish unreviewed machine output, and we do not generate pages at scale to chase search traffic. Where a guide rests on first-hand experience — a neighborhood we walk through, an airport route we take — that experience is ours.
How the site pays for itself
AluguelSP is free and carries affiliate links: if you book a hotel, a transfer or an eSIM through us, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those links are marked sponsored and open in a new tab.
A commission never buys a recommendation. We link to partners we would use ourselves, and we say plainly when an option is cheaper without us — a local SIM card is cheaper than the eSIM we link to, and we write that on the page.
Corrections
If a price moved, a rule changed or we got something wrong, tell us at ola@aluguelsp.com.br. We read every message and we correct the page rather than quietly deleting it.
